Australasia will be sending a boys under-15 team back to Ireland to compete in the Féile Peile na nÓg at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Co Mayo on Saturday 29 June.
Comprising mainly Western Australia players, and a complement from Victoria and South Australia, this will be the second outing of an Australasia team at the prestigious national youth tournament.
The team will compete in group 4 of division 5 where they will face Newtownbutler First Fermanagh’s GFC and Gaultier of Waterford.
In 2019, Western Australia featured at the competition where they recorded some great wins against strong Irish opposition, and made it all the way to the semi-finals. Last year, the inaugural Australasia Féile was held in Adelaide, where many of this year’s Australasia team represented their states and got their first taste of tournament football.
The very best of luck to the players, coaches and everyone making the trip to Ireland for the tournament. A special thanks to the sponsors for supporting for boys’ trip: Crowley Plant Hire; DCI Electrical Services; KLF Contracts; Pipeline Technics Civil Engineering; Resource Services Group (RSGx); SMS Mining Services; The Noel Walsh Foundation; Australasia Gaelic Games and GAA in WA. And a shoutout also to Southern Districts GAC for their donation of 10 brand new footballs.
