Australasia girls heading to Féile in Derry

For the first time ever, an Australasia girls’ Gaelic football team will travel to Ireland to compete at Féile Peile na nÓg – one of the world’s most prestigious youth Gaelic games tournaments.

The U15 girls’ team, featuring players from Young Melbourne (Victoria) and the Gaelic Games Academy of WA, will take the field in Derry on Saturday 27 June for a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity to represent our region.

For many of these young athletes – most of whom are Australian‑born – wearing the Australasia jersey in Ireland is the highest honour possible in youth Gaelic games. Féile connects teams from across Ireland and around the world in a celebration of sport, friendship and Irish culture.

In 2024, an Australasia boys’ team made the same journey, performing brilliantly both during the tournament and in warm‑up games across Ireland. Now, it’s the girls’ turn to make history.

Support the team with a donation

The girls have been training hard for months, but representing Australasia on the world stage is entirely self‑funded. Each player must cover:

  • International flights
  • Accommodation and tournament fees
  • Transport and logistics
  • Training preparation and equipment

The total cost per player is significant. Your donation can help ensure that every selected player gets the chance to travel, regardless of financial circumstances.

Donate now – help our U15 Féile team represent Australasia in Ireland

Every contribution – big or small – brings us closer to seeing these young women fulfil their dream and inspire the next generation of Gaelic games players across Australasia.
